Hey all!!
I am a 40 yr old SBM musician/poet/cybergeek, have read comix since I was a wee lad -- all the standard DC/Marvel jazz... and have NEVER, until now:
* attended a comic/sci-fi convention
* written to a comix lettercol
* participated in a comix-based discussion board or chat room.
BUT -- this is SiP, fer cryin' -- to comix what BAB5 was to sci-fi TV. It is so intelligently written, full of rich, real, complicated characters.... my story is the same as many, and gives truth to the blurb in the back of the "My Other Life" TPB: "Nobody owns just *one* SiP... they want them all!!"
I came in right before the first "flash-forward" (I think), and realized I had to get every back issue I could... haven't read "Molly and Poo" (could've bought it, but at the time was just collecting the core story line issues - wasn't fully hooked yet).
My fave comix before that were "Astro City", "Dark Knight Returns", "Watchmen", DCs "Golden Age" Elseworlds and "Kingdom Come" -- never read any touchy-feel alt stuff like "Love and Rockets" or "Stray Bullets"... but, hell, I don't have to tell anyone here -- this is SiP, dang it!!!
BTW -- check out DC's (yes -- the mainstreams can do cool sh*t sometimes) "Zero Girl" by Sam Keith... it's only a five issue run, but if y'all love SiP (d'uh), I think y'll dig this too...
Peace to all, and Make Mine SiP (oops, waitiaminit....)
BTW2 -- where can I get a Griffin Silver CD...??

hey Yeah!! we got a lyrics and poems... and terry's written some lovely songs even with music!! How about it Terry? Will we ever see an Sip Cd? I would love to do "Baby Jane" but I can't play the piano... but I have the perfect voice to be Katchoo... low and a little hoarse. You don't seem to mind fans singing your praises (heh heh... I made a pun...) if a cd is too much, what about MP3's of songs from the series downloadable from the webpaige? "Listen to SIP while you read SIP!!"
just a thought!

I have over 100 female action figures--or "Battle Bitches" as I like to call 'em. Why the heck didn't they make these things when I was a kid?!!!
Don't be so down on Barbie--not only is her boyfriend a closet case, his underwear are flesh colored and molded to his butt. Talk about tightie whitie.

Hmm, also very good for refitting. Hehe, a colleague of mine bought Lisa from Steps (argh! the shame, I was with him at the time) and repainted, clothed and styled her into...(drum roll)...vamp Willow. Such a cool effort!

I want to see WIC Barbie--she comes with a block of cheese and a welfare ID card. As for the ubiquitous Ken, well, obviously he's just a beard and Barbie herself is the lipstick lesbian from hell. Hey, considering the current "gayby" boom, how about artificially inseminated Barbie and Sperm Donor Ken? She comes with a basal thermometer and he comes with tiny little porno mags. Literally. If he can get the molded underwear off.

I could never stand Barbie-blob growing up... I always tore them apart and went to go play with my Matchbox cars. But I have a friend who takes barbies and makes her own dolls... mermaid's and fairy's and ninja's... and she got a little eraser shaped like male genitals and gave poor Ken his own package! She's so sweet...
There's also a gay psuedo-ken doll called "Billy" that you can find online... and it goes to the opposite extreme. [ :-o

Billy is NOTHING like Ken!!! First off, he ain't no stinkin' beard. Second, the boy is stacked. Third, he is out loud and proud, unlike that closet case, Ken.
